Hyderabad court acquits BJP leader T Raja Singh in hate speech case

HYDERABAD: A city court on Friday acquitted Goshamahal MLA and BJP senior leader T Raja Singh in a hate speech case registered against him at Mangalhat in the city in October 2023.

A case was registered against the legislator on a complaint from a Mangalhat resident in October 2023.

The complainant, then 46 years old, alleged that he saw a video on social media in which Raja Singh was heard making derogatory and abusive remarks targeting a particular community and giving threats to the community.

The special court for the trial of cases against MPs and MLAs, Hyderabad, conducted the trial in the case.

Stating that the prosecution failed to prove the charges due to lack of evidence, the court acquitted him.
