The student, who lives in Vijay Nagar, aspires to study in IIT Bombay and pursue computer science. His father, Sriphani Singaraju, is an IT professional-turned- entrepreneur, who took a sabbatical to support his son.

"We are very proud of him because he studied for nearly 12 hours daily and was determined to crack the exam. We hope he will excel in in JEE Advanced as well," said Sriphani. Venkat completed his Intermediate from Sri Chaitanya institute.

Over 50 students apart from Venkat are learnt to have scored above 280 marks in the finals from Telangana. It is however the percentile that will determine qualification. In 2022, the qualifying cut off for JEE advanced was 88.41% for general category.

Previously, in February the JEE Mains Session I results had been released wherein four from Hyderabad had scored a perfect 300 score. NTA is yet to release the ranks based on percentile of students or the cut off for JEE Advanced exams. The advanced exams are scheduled for June 4 this year.
