HYDERABAD: A software engineer died of chest pain after playing game of Cricket with a group of friends at Parade Grounds in city, police officials said on Sunday

The incident happened on Saturday evening after 31-year-old Sanjeev Reddy, a resident of Sanathnagar, was leaving the ground at around 4pm after playing Cricket along with his friends from 11.30am, Begumpet police officials said.

Soon after Sanjeev Reddy complained of severe chest pain to his friends, the latter immediately decided to take him to the KIMS hospital in Begumpet, but he fell unconsious on the way to hospital.

Sanjeev Reddy's friends managed to performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on Sanjeev Reddy and rushed him to the hospital, but the doctors pronounced him brought dead.

"Sanjeev Reddy has hyper tension. Though he was feeling unwell, he still came to the ground to join his friends to play Cricket, since it was a holiday for him on Saturday," Begumpet inspector P Srinivas Rao told TOI.

It was two years ago, he got married and he has been staying in Sanathnagar in Hyderabad along with his family members. He is a native of Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh. Police officials registered a case under section 174 (suspicious death) of Cr.PC.

After completion of legal formalities, police officials handed over Sanjeev Reddy's body to his family.
