HYDERABAD: Three more cases have been registered against poachgate accused, K Nanda Kumar, at the Banjara Hills police station based on complaints by businessmen who alleged they were duped by him.

So far, five cases of cheating have been registered against Nanda Kumar, within a span of four days, for causing loss to the complainants. They claimed he illegally sublet them the property in Film Nagar, owned by Daggubati Suresh Babu and Daggubati Venkatesh.

In the latest batch of complaints, owner of Bombay Gourmet Store Indira Konna, on Tuesday, alleged that she signed an agreement with Nanda Kumar in May 2022 for renting a 800 sft space within his premises on Road Number 1, Film Nagar.

The deal was sealed for 13.5 lakh as advance and 1.5 lakh monthly rent. But after opening her store in September, the complainant learnt that Nanda Kumar and his company had leased premises from Venkatesh and Suresh Babu and according to the agreement, the former had no legal right to sublet it.

"Without having any right, he sublet the premises and cheated us. When we asked Nanda Kumar to repay 75 lakh for the expenses incurred, he threatened me and my son with dire consequences," the complainant alleged.

Another complaint was lodged by Aashwij Reddy, 30, who also rented a part of the same premises in March 2021 to set up a Barista coffee shop. He claimed to have paid 5 lakh advance and 1.18 lakh as monthly rent to Nanda Kumar. "I spent about 60 lakh to put up the coffee shop and later came to know that Nanda Kumar does not have legal right to sublease the property," Reddy alleged.

The other complaint lodged on Wednesday was by Sanjay Reddy, 26, who had set up Scream Ice Cream shop in September after paying 8 lakh advance and 1 lakh rent. Sanjay alleged that Nanda Kumar caused him loss of about 39 lakh.

Police registered separate cases of cheating and criminal intimidation against Nanda Kumar.

Earlier on Sunday night, two cheating cases were registered against him based on the complaints by Syed Ayaaz, who along with his associates was operating Deccan Kitchen, and Mitta Sandeep Kumar, who set up Gadget Studio store at the property.
