Hyderabad: 25g cocaine seized from two African citizens

HYDERABAD: Excise sleuths arrested two citizens of Republic of Côte d'Ivoire at Nanal Nagar on Sunday and recovered 25 grams of cocaine worth Rs 1.5 lakh from their possession.


Acting on specific information, police kept a watch on the movements of Dohoun Arnold Patrick (31), and Yaye Abdoulaye (34) near Nanal Nagar X roads on Sunday morning when they were waiting to meet prospective customers and arrested them.

Excise sleuths also seized three cell phones from their possession. During the interrogation, the accused confessed that they procured the contraband from a Bangalore-based Nigerian peddler.

“Arnold Patrick has been staying in Bangaluru and he came to Hyderabad by bus on Sunday morning to sell cocaine to customers as per the instructions of his handler. Arnold took shelter at Yaye Abdoulaye’s flat in Sun City, Bandlaguda. On Sunday morning Arnold and Yaye got out of the house to sell cocaine in Tolichowki, Himayath Nagar and Gachibowli. We arrested them near Nanal Nagar X roads,” assistant excise superintendent (Enforcement) N Anji Reddy said.

The accused were selling one gram of cocaine for Rs 6,000. A week ago, excise sleuths arrested another gang member of the accused, Suleman Ibraheem Hasan at Lakdikapul in possesion of six grams of cocaine.

“The accused have been illegally staying in India. They were handed over to Golconda excise police for further probe,” Anji Reddy said.
