Radha had been working there since January this year.
According to police, Radha approached the pastor of a church in Sultan Bazar saying she lost her parents long back and was living with her uncle in Madduru village of Kadapa district. Radha told the pastor that she had to run away from home as she was being illtreated and pleaded with the pastor to find her a job.
As she expressed her willingness to work as a domestic help, he referred her to Surekha, a regular visitor to the church and who had in the past requested the pastor to find her a maid.
However, two months into the job, Radha told Surekha that she had lied about the death of her parents, as she was in dire need of a job. She also told Surekha that her first husband had committed suicide and that had she married a second time. She said her second husband used to harass her and that she had run away from home.
Surekha and her daughters were sympathetic towards Radha. However, they often noticed Radha looking at valuables in the house.
Following the advise of relatives, Surekha took a photograph of Radha for the record. On Monday, Surekha and her daughters woke up an hour late and could not find Radha anywhere. All the doors of the house were open. It was then that they got suspicious and checked the almirah and found their valuables missing.
