House help loots diamond jewellery worth 20 lakh
Hyderabad: A domestic help from Nepal drugged his co-workers and stole diamond jewellery worth 20 lakh from his employer's house in Jubilee Hills on Thursday night. The incident occurred at the home of 68-year-old businessman Ravindra Sharma in Nandagiri Hills, Jubilee Hills. According to police, Sharma, his wife and his son's family had gone out for dinner at a relative's house on Thursday night, leaving the new cook, 22-year-old Bhupender Shahi, in the house. Shahi then drugged three colleagues and, with the help of two unknown accomplices, stole diamond jewellery from the third-floor bedroom. The incident came to light when Sharma's daughter-in-law Neha returned home at around 8.40pm with her baby and caretaker Maya Rani. They found the main gate ajar and the watchmen missing. Cook Rakesh was also unresponsive to calls. When Maya Rani went upstairs, she encountered an intruder who pushed her aside and fled downstairs with Shahi and another man carrying a bag.Inside, they found Rakesh semi-conscious, Nageshwar Rao tied up with towels and Neeraja unconscious in a chair. Sharma alleged that Shahi and the other suspects may have drugged the other workers to commit burglary. Police filed a case under multiple sections of BNS.
