HYDERABAD: After taking up a sustained online campaign #SayNoToBettingApps, senior Telangana IPS officer VC Sajjanar on Wednesday called the center govt's decision to ban online money games as "historic''.
Additional director general of police rank officer Sajjanar in a statement said that ``The Central Government’s decision to ban online betting, which has been destroying countless young lives, is a highly welcome and historic step.
This move will not only save many lives but also protect the very social fabric of our society from the dangerous consequences of gambling addiction,'' Sajjanar, who is now serving as managing director of TG State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC).
In Telangana, more than 7 persons died by suicide after they suffered finanial loss in online betting. The 1996 batch officer for more than six months has taken up a campaign against online betting, explaining about its fall out.
