The World Heritage Day was celebrated at Unesco heritage site Rudreshwara Temple on the theme 'Shilpam, Varnam, Krishnam' in a grand manner with performances by music director SS Thaman, percussionist Sivamani, singer Karthik and Flute Naveen.

Speaking on the occasion, minister Srinivas Goud said: "Telangana people constructed world class temples using sandbox technology and lightweight bricks, which float on water, hundreds of years ago."

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has directed that the World Heritage Day celebrations be held at the historic Ramappa temple to honour its Unesco tag.

The CM also sanctioned 23 crore for the development of the temple precincts and road from Venkatapuram to Ramappa temple. The foundation has been laid for these works, the minister added.

The state would also develop a tribal tourism and archaeology hub at the temple complex, he added.
