Heart attack or murder? Hyderabad logistics manager's sudden death exposes chilling plot by wife, her lover; CCTV cracks case
HYDERABAD: A 36-year-old woman and her paramour were among three people arrested for allegedly killing the woman’s husband, a logistics manager at a private university, police said to news agency PTI on Monday.
The 45-year-old man was allegedly strangled to death by his wife, along with a 22-year-old construction worker with whom she had developed an “illicit relationship”, and another accomplice at their residence in Boduppal on December 11, according to a release from the Rachakonda police commissionerate.
The woman initially misled relatives by claiming that her husband had died of a heart attack, the police said.
She later lodged a complaint at Medipally police station, stating that her husband was found unconscious in the washroom of their house and was declared dead at the government hospital, Malkajgiri. Based on her complaint, a case was registered and an investigation was taken up.
Police said that during the investigation, suspicious injuries were noticed on the body, including marks on the cheek and neck, raising doubts about the cause of death.
Based on CCTV footage and technical evidence, the woman and the two other accused were arrested.
During questioning, investigators found that the woman’s husband had begun suspecting the relationship and was questioning and harassing her, following which she and her paramour allegedly conspired to eliminate him, police said.
“Accordingly, on December 11, after the manager returned home from work, the second and third accused caught hold of him and assaulted him, while the woman, the prime accused, held his legs. The second accused (paramour) strangulated the man using chunnis, causing his death. After the murder, the accused changed the clothes of the deceased and disposed of the incriminating articles to destroy evidence,” police said.
