HYDERABAD: A division bench of the AP High Court comprising Justice R Subhash Reddy and Justice Shankar Narayana on Friday directed the education department not to promote teachers with degrees from deemed universities.
The bench was dealing with a writ petition filed by several teachers challenging promotions to teachers who obtained degrees from deemed universities.

It was decided not to grant promotions to these candidates. This was challenged in AP Administrative Tribunal. The APAT set aside the action of the state government in favour of candidates who got certificates from deemed universities .This was challenged in High Court by other group of teachers. Initially, there was blanket stay and on Wednesday the bench said that no fresh promotions based upon the certificates issued by deemed universities will be given and no reversions will be resorted to by the state government .
