Hyderabad: Condemning chief minister A
Revanth Reddy and irrigation minister Uttam Kumar Reddy's remarks on the Palamuru project and BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao during the PowerPoint presentation on projects, former minister T
Harish Rao said the CM's claims were filled with "TMCs of lies and cusecs of ignorance".
Harish Rao took strong objection to Revanth Reddy for comparing BRS chief KCR to terrorist Ajmal Kasab. "On one hand, you claim you will maintain decorum in the assembly, and on the other, you compare the man who achieved
Telangana to a terrorist. KCR united four crore people and risked his life to achieve this state. Comparing him to Kasab shows your lack of culture and basic courtesy," Harish Rao said.

Countering the CM's claim that KCR had agreed to 299 TMC, Harish Rao termed it a blatant lie. He reminded the cheif minister that within 42 days of the state's formation, KCR wrote to the Centre demanding a reallocation of the total 811 TMCs. "KCR demanded a 69% share for Telangana from the 811 TMCs. We wrote 28 letters seeking a 50:50 ratio until the Brijesh Tribunal gave its final verdict. We raised the issue in two apex council meetings. The minutes of these meetings are available. Revanth Reddy should read them properly," Harish Rao told the media after the CM's remarks.
He explained that the case was withdrawn from the Supreme Court only because the Centre had promised to refer the matter for reallocation under Section 3 of the Inter-State River Water Disputes Act. This nine-year struggle led by KCR was a victory for Telangana, he added. Harish Rao also questioned the CM's statement that all water flows only to Jurala and not to Srisailam.
"Does the CM not know that the Tungabhadra river exists? Does he not know that 450 to 600 TMCs of water reach Srisailam through the Tungabhadra every year?" he asked. He pointed out that the Congress govt declared a crop holiday for 5.5 lakh acres under Jurala-based projects this year due to mismanagement. In contrast, the Srisailam-based Kalwakurthy project is successfully providing water to 2.8 lakh acres.
Harish Rao said that it was the Congress party that instigated cases in the NGT against the Palamuru-Rangareddy project. "Despite hurdles, the BRS govt secured seven permissions for the project. In your two years in power, you secured a single permission and instead caused the DPR to be sent back. This is your competence," he said.
