HYDERABAD: Hajipur serial killer

Marri Srinivas Reddy

filed an appeal challenging the

death penalty

awarded to him by the trial court.

The trial court too referred the judgment seeking confirmation of its capital punishment order.

The bench of Chief

Justice Raghavendra Singh Chauhan

and Justice A Abhishek Reddy admitted both pleas and issued notices to the respondents. The bench appointed senior counsel

T Niranjan Reddy

as amicus curiae in the case. Srinivas Reddy was convicted in the rape and murder of three girls. He was awarded death in two cases and life in one case.
