GUNTUR: Commending the services extended by the SPDCL staff from Guntur in Cyclone hit areas of North-coastal districts, AP Transco chief, Ajay Jain has said that superintending engineer K Santosh Rao has stood as a model to all the engineers and staff in handling the emergency duties.
He said that Guntur is the only district to depute highest number of engineers, technical and non-technical staff to revive the power supply in worst damaged electricity lines in north coastal districts.

SPDCL chief engineer K Raja Bapaiah said that Santosh Rao played key role in motivating the staff to work in the cyclone hit areas.
He said that their staff reached interior corners of the cyclone hit villages in Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts and relentlessly worked to restore the power supply. SP Santosh Rao said that 110 engineers, 507 operations and maintenance wing staff, 1200 skilled and unskilled labourers attended the duties.
He said that they have formed 89 teams with the staff to repair 41 numbers of 33kv feeders, 147-11kv feeders. He said that about 5000 poles of 8metres and 2000 poles of 9.1 metres and 150 spun poles were deployed from Guntur. DEEs GVS Pardha Saradhi, Muralikrishna Yadav, Vijayakumar, Anjaneyulu and senior official AVSS Prasad were present in different locations of cyclone hit areas.
