VIJAYAWADA: The AP High Court has summoned Guntur superintendent of police P S R Anjaneyulu to appear before it in connection with a petition filed by a person named Mandragutti Vijaya Lakshmi of Stuartpuram.
Vijaya Lakshmi filed a petition in the High Court alleging that the Guntur SP summoned her to his office and warned her to settle a private dispute she had with Anapa Samarpana Rao.
The SP will appear before the High Court on Tuesday. Vijaya Lakshmi belongs to the Stuartpuram criminal gang while her husband is a dossier criminal.
Her son Vijaya Kumar alias Maharaj is an inter-state criminal.
Vijaya Lakshmi''s brother G Subba Rao had a private dispute with Samarpana Rao, a bank official placed in New Delhi. Even as the dispute was pending in a court at Bapatla, Samarpana Rao approached the Guntur SP seeking justice.
As the matter was sub-judice, the SP refused to intervene.
But, Vijaya Lakshmi approached the High Court alleging that the SP summoned her in connection with the case and threatened her.
Based on the petition, the High Court summoned the SP to appear before it on Tuesday. When contacted, P S R Anjaneyulu refused to comment on the issue.
