In a move that could calm down the political tempers in the district, the district administration has succeeded in prevailing over the TDP activists who have been staying in rehabilitation camp in the city for the last one week to return home. Senior officials assured the alleged victims of YSRCP attacks to provide security and peaceful environment in their villages if they return to homes. District administration arranged special buses to move about 120 people from the rehabilitation camp to different villages in Palnadu region in the district.

Police detained Srinivas when he was on his way to party chief N Chandrababu Naidu's residence, to participate in 'Chalo Atmakur' rally. The TDP MP was stopped by the police before he could enter Prakasam barrage. The MP started walking towards Chandrababu Naidu's residence. However, the police stopped him midway. He and his followers sat on the barrage for a few moments, following which the police detained him.

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu was on Wednesday morning put under preventive detention at a time when he along with his party workers were set to take out 'Chalo Atmakur' rally.
