GUNTUR: District Congress president Rayapati Srinivas has appointed 12 vice-presidents after a gap of two years.
The committee, according to Srinivas, was constituted after consulting with senior leaders, including former chief minister N Janardhana Reddy and MLAs Kanna Lakshminarayana, J Krishna Murthy, M H Rao, M V Ramana Rao, G Venkata Reddy.
Srinivas told reporters on Thursday that the committee was formed strictly in accordance with the guidelines issued by the state party unit.

There are 25 women in the committee, while 29 are BCs, 21 SCs, seven from STs and 13 minorities.
Apart from 12 vice-presidents, the DCC consists of 31 general secretaries, 35 secretaries, 38 organising secretaries and 30 executive members.
Kakumanu Pedaperi Reddy and Dasaratharami Reddy would act as official spokespersons at Narasaraopet and Tenali revenue divisions respectively. Guntur Chamber of Commerce president Atukuri Anjaneyulu has been retained as treasurer of the district committee.
In another development, former president of the district youth Congress Lella Appi Reddy has been appointed secretary of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). PCC president M Satyanarayana Rao issued orders to this effect on Thursday.
The name of Appi Reddy had initially figured in the District Congress Committee (DCC) list as one of the vice-presidents but was deleted on being informed that he was appointed the PCC secretary.
Meanwhile, the City Congress Committee (CCC) also released the list of its executive body. It now has 145 members, including 10 vice-presidents, 26 general secretaries and 48 secretaries in the committee apart from joint secretaries and special invitees.
