HYDERABAD: Central Crime Station (CCS) investigators on Thursday produced realtor Gowri Shankar Gupta, who was undergoing treatment at Nims, before the Nampally criminal court in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) cheating case. After he was discharged from Nims, Gupta was brought to the court in a wheelchair in the evening. The magistrate remanded him in judicial custody till July 12.
Gupta has thereafter moved a petition seeking bail.
Gupta was arrested by CCS police Friday last but was shifted to MediCiti hospital after he complained of chest pain. Subsequently, when police brought him to court in a wheelchair Gupta suddenly fell unconscious.
Then, the magistrate directed police to shift him to Nims. Gupta is accused of cheating HMDA by fraudulently using letterheads of DLF Ltd to enter into a lease agreement. In another case, Crime Investigation Department (CID) officers produced YSR Congress party chief
YS Jaganmohan Reddy's aide Mangali Krishna and gangster Bhanu Kiran before the Nampally court after completion of their police custody on Thursday. The duo's judicial remand was extended up to July 4.
