Govt for air network in all Telangana dists

HYDERABAD: To explore the possibility of providing air connectivity to all districts in the state, chief secretary SK Joshi directed officials to submit a feasibility report within a month. The development of airports is being proposed under the Aviation

On Thursday, the chief secretary chaired a meeting of the Telangana State Aviation Academy managing committee, which was attended by

finance

principal secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, aviation academy secretary Captain SN Reddy and other officials.

Speaking at the meeting, Joshi said for the development of greenfield airports in the state, both government and private airstrips can be utilised while developing other infrastructure facilities. He also asked the aviation academy to introduce self financing courses like five years’ MSc Aviation course and AME course, which can lead to students getting placements immediately after completion of the course.

Officials informed that Indigo airlines entered into an MoU with Telangana aviation academy for cadre pilot training.

He said that the academy earned recognition across the country with its courses and activities.
