Govt appoints Chalapathi Rao chief of Tirupathi trust

HYDERABAD: The government on Wednesday reconstituted the trust board of prestigious Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) and appointed P Chalapathi Rao, legislator from Yelamanchali in Visakhapatnam district as board chairman.

HYDERABAD: The government on Wednesday reconstituted the trust board of prestigious Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanams (TTD) and appointed P Chalapathi Rao, legislator from Yelamanchali in Visakhapatnam district as board chairman.
The reconstitution, coming after a long gap, created ripples in the party and administrative circle, as chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has nominated two liquor barons as members of the trust board, who were former Congress leaders.
G Ganga Reddy, TDP’s member of Parliament from Nizamabad, a known liquor baron and former Congress leader had made it to the board which controls several crores of rupees.
