Raj Bhavan to hold decision on MLC seats

Hyderabad: Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan has decided not to take any action on the government’s proposal to fill the two vacant MLC seats under the governor’s quota for now.In a statement on Wednesday, Raj Bhavan said no action will taken till a decision by the Telangana high court on the writ petitions filed by Dasoju Sravan Kumar and K Satyanarayana challenging the rejection of their MLC nominations. The two had been nominated by the previous BRS government, but it was rejected by the governor. They had then moved the HC fearing that the new Congress government may fill the seats.While hearing their case earlier this month, the HC had asked the state to come to a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ and not precipitate matters till the next date of hearing on Jan 24.
