Golconda accident victim's family donate his organs
HYDERABAD: Family members of M Ramesh, 45, who was severely injured in an accident at Golconda on Saturday and was declared brain dead late on Tuesday, donated his organs. His kidneys, liver, and heart were donated to the Jeevandan trust, the state govt’s nodal agency for organ donation.
His son, 7, died on the spot in the accident when a youngster driving his car in an inebriated condition rammed into their bike, said police. The accused was then arrested and sent to judicial remand, said P Saidulu, SHO Golconda. He remains in judicial remand.
The incident happened at Ibrahimbagh under Golconda police limits when the car rammed into their bike from the rear at high speed. The bike and car ended up hitting a compound wall, abutting the road.
Locals caught the car driver, Srinath, an undergraduate student and a resident of Sheikpet, and handed him over to police. He tested positive for drunk driving, and his Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) was recorded as 100 mg/dl. Police also recovered a liquor bottle from his car.
