GHMC tax official held for taking bribe

HYDERABAD: A tax inspector of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) was caught red-handed by ACB sleuths when he demanded Rs 4,000 bribe from the complainant and accepted it through his associate at

on Monday.


The accused are, K Jai Krishna, tax inspector, Circle - 19, GHMC, Yousufguda and his associate, G Shiva Shankar. Dr P Hemanth Kumar of

Somajiguda

had complained that the accused had demanded bribe to correct the name of the complainant’s father in GHMC property tax record. Based on the complaint, ACB sleuths laid a trap at Krishna’s office in Yousufguda at 4.40pm. ACB sleuths caught Shiva Shankar when he recieved the bribe amount on directions of Jai Krishna. The accused will be produced before ACB special court.
