HYDERABAD: Under the Telangana Ku Haritha Haram (TKHH) programme this year, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (
GHMC) has rolled out an action plan for 50 lakh plantations.
Under the state government programme aimed at increasing the green cover, the plantations are proposed along major roads, bylanes, open spaces and educational institutions.
"Saplings will also be planted along nalas near Musi.
Nearby lakes, dense green cover will be developed along the buffer zone," said a GHMC official. Civic body is also planning to turn the open government lands and grounds into parks. "Open spaces will be developed into tree parks. Walking tracks will also come up in the lung space," read a statement issued by GHMC.
