<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">HYDERABAD: Three persons indulging in satta betting were arrested by the city police commissioner''s East Zone Task Force on Thursday, and Rs 36,950 in cash and three cell phones were seized during the raids in three different places in the city.<br /><br />The accused — L J Harikrishna, 29, a resident of Malakpet; G Raju, 32, of Nagole and B Jagadish, 56, a resident of Jambagh — were found accepting satta betting over cell phone at their respective houses.<br /><br />The task force, on credible information, raided the house of Harikrishna at Saleem nagar early Wednesday morning, and based on the information provided by the accused, they raided the house of G Raju.
The information given by both the accused led to a raid on a house belonging to Jagadish.<br /><br />The police said that during the course of investigation, Harikrishna and G Raju confessed that they were working as sub-agents for Jagadish and that the main organiser, Ramesh, a resident of Mumbai, was paying commission in the range of 8-10 per cent on the amounts collected by them from punters.<br /><br />The accused were accepting satta bettings on their cell phones and using their respective houses as gambling dens, the police said. All the accused have been handed over to the Malakpet police for further action under the AP Gambling Act.<br /><br />The raid was conducted by inspector T Varhala Raju, SIs L A Bhaskar, A vinod Kumar and M Pitchaiah under the supervision of task force DCP Y Gangadhar.<br /><br /><formid=526372></formid=526372></div> </div>
