FSL fire: KTR resorting to cheap tactics, says Congress
Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Sunday criticised BRS working president KT Rama Rao, accusing him of resorting to cheap tactics and spreading false propaganda against chief minister A Revanth Reddy ahead of municipal polls. He was responding to KTR's allegations linking the recent fire incident at the FSL to the chief minister. He said that KTR had stooped to the lowest levels and was making baseless allegations out of fear of an impending defeat in the upcoming polls. He said phone tapping tapes and related evidence were stored in the forensic lab, and alleged that KTR himself could be behind the fire accident. "KTR is trying to mislead the people by linking the fire accident to the CM. If there was any conspiracy behind the forensic lab fire, it would be from KTR's side," he alleged.Kiran Kumar Reddy also claimed that after losing the 2023 assembly elections, the BRS leadership had allegedly switched off CCTV cameras at the SIB office and destroyed equipment and files, including those brought from Israel, by dumping them into the Musi river. He said KTR's family was facing an inquiry in the phone-tapping case.
He further alleged that KTR and his family members were trying to mislead the public through social media posts, statements, and other propaganda campaigns. Accusing the previous BRS govt of pushing Telangana into a debt of over Rs 8 lakh crore, he said it had mortgaged the state's self-respect by changing the party's name from TRS to BRS. "The BRS leadership should seek forgiveness from the people of Telangana before asking for votes," he said.
