Former Karimnagar mayor’s son drunk & rams car into median, booked
Hyderabad: Former Karimnagar mayor and senior BJP leader Sunil Rao's son was booked for driving under the influence of alcohol and ramming his car into the median on Road No. 10 in Jubilee Hills in the early hours of Thursday. Police said that the accused Pradyumn's breathalyser test after the accident recorded his blood alcohol content (BAC) at 36mg/100ml. The legal BAC is 0.03% (30mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood).According to Jubilee Hills police, 20-year-old Pradyumn, who lives in Alwal, was going to Jubilee Hills to have food with his two other friends. At a bend on Road No. 10, Jubilee Hills, Pradyumn lost control of the vehicle due to rash driving and the car hit the median before coming to a halt. Pradyumn was studying in the city. The night patrol team passing by rushed to the rescue of the occupants. They found the vehicle damaged but the occupants were unharmed. The patrol team took them to the police station where all three underwent a breathalyser test. Pradyumn tested positive, while the others tested negative.A case was registered on the patrol team's complaint and is under investigation. The three were released after serving a notice, a police official said.
