DSP quits service to contest MLC polls in T’gana

Hyderabad: DSP M Gangadhar, who quit police department after serving for 22 years, has announced his entry into politics. He is contesting as an independent candidate in the upcoming graduates MLC election for the erstwhile Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Adilabad and Medak districts.
Gangadhar had earlier complained to the state govt against an IPS officer, alleging injustice.
The CID had already completed an inquiry into the issue.
He also raised his voice against acceleratory promotions given to some officers in the department.
Hailing from the erstwhile Nizamabad district, Gangadhar had joined the police department in 1998 as a sub-inspector.
"I am determined to work towards bringing a change in systems and society," said Gangadhar in a letter released to the media on Monday. tnn
