Former babus demand Naidu apologise to CS, CEO
Hyderabad: Retired IAS officers of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have written a letter to AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu taking strong objection to the manner in which he spoke with chief electoral officer (CEO) Gopal Krishna Dwivedi. They also took exception to Naidu’s comments against AP chief secretary L V Subramanyam for visiting the office of the director-general of police (DGP).The 13 retired officers of united AP and Telangana cadre — S Bhale Rao, K V Rao, T S Appa Rao, A K Parida, S K Sinha, Suteerdha Bhattacharya, Vidyasagar, M G Gopal, CVSK Sharma, Vinod K Agarwal, J C Mohanty, Vijay Kumar and IYR Krishna Rao — described Naidu’s remarks as ‘derogatory’ and condemned them and also his behaviour with the CEO of AP. They said chief secretary L V Subramanyam was known as an outstanding officer. “When cases have been quashed by the high court, it is unfortunate that the chief minister is referring to him as an accused,” they said in the letter, demanding that Naidu withdraw his comments and apologise.“Similarly, the manner in which the chief minister went to the office of the CEO and the manner in which he spoke to him is also not in the best traditions of administration and sends a message of intimidation,” the retired officers said urging him to desist from such actions.
