A minor fire broke out in the GHMC's zonal (south) commissioner's office at Sardar Mahal on Tuesday morning.

HYDERABAD: A minor fire broke out in the GHMC's zonal (south) commissioner's office at SardarMahal on Tuesday morning. According to AP Fire Services (APFS) officials, the fire was caused by a short circuit in a store room in the heritage building. A fire tender was rushed from the Moghalpura fire station and was assisted by one tender each from Musheerabad and Gowliguda fire stations.

The flames were doused within 40 minutes, firefighters claimed. Officials said pegged the loss at Rs 25,000 and claimed that they saved property worth around Rs 5 lakh. A number of old documents were burnt, they added. SardarMahal is a heritage building and is in a dilapidated condition.
