HYDERABAD: Two former employees of Satyam Computers on Tuesday told the trial court hearing the Satyam scam case that their company had raised as many as 7,561 fake invoices between 2003 and 2008.
The two employees, Valluri Suryanarayana Murthy, who was with the company as its general manager (internal information systems), and Chaitanya Madala, a senior software engineer, deposed as witnesses for the prosecuting agency, CBI.
According to them, a sample invoice copy was first generated from the company's main server and several replicas of the same were created to prepare fake invoices.
These invoices were generally used for collecting money from the company's customers. But these fake invoices do not indicate any specific customer as they were created only for inflationary purposes by the accused in the case.
Out of the total 47,000 invoices prepared during the said period, 7,561 invoices were fake, the witnesses said in their depositions.
