Enforcement Directorate, Delhi unit has issued summons to
Telangana senior Congress leader and former minister
Shabbir Ali and Gorantla Ramesh ,Delhi Public School, Miyapur Pro-Vice chairman and two others from Hyderabad in connection with businessman Sana Satish Babu’s case.
ED will be recording the statements of Shabbir Ali and G Ramesh as their names were revealed by Satish in connection with payments made to meat exporter Moin Qureshi.
Sana Satish Babu who is at the centre of the controversy was arrested by CBI on July 27. Sources in ED said that the Sana Satish Babu has spilt the beans over the involvement of others in the Moin Qureshi money laundering case. Based on the confession made by Satish Babu, the investigation agency is summoning the persons who allegedly had knew aboout theh transactions.
ED in the charge-sheet filed in 2017 October mentioned the name of Shabbir Ali stating that Ali had gone to Delhi along with Sana Satish and was present when Satish paid a “large sum of money” to Moin Qureshi.Shabbir Ali, in 2017, denied any link with Moin Qureshi and called the revelations made by Sana Satish Babu , a ‘lie’.
Central Bureau of Investigation, former DIG Manish Kumar Sinha in his intervention application before Supreme Court in November 2018 alleged, “Sana Satish Babu disclosed to CBI that he met the CVC KV Chowdhary (now retired) along with one Gorantala Ramesh, close relative of KV Chowdary and owner of Delhi Public School Hyderabad, somewhere in Delhi and discussed Moin Qureshi’s case. As per Sana, in 2011 Gorantala Ramesh sold some land and gave around Rs 4 crores out of the said sale consideration to Sana, in the same month, in which Sana had given Rs 50 lakhs to Moin Qureshi.Ramesh was examined by CBI in Moin Qureshi’s case,”
Sinha in his affidavit in SC added, “As per Sana, CVC K V Chowdhary called Rakesh Asthana to his residence and made inquiries. Rakesh Asthana informed the CVC that there was not much in evidence against them.” Shabbir Ali did not respond to messages or phone calls.
