East or West? Metro commuters puzzled over Secunderabad station
Hyderabad: Unsuspecting passengers who take the city's metro to get to Secunderabad are often faced with a question: do we go east or west? This, metro officials said, causes a great deal of confusion, resulting in passengers ending up at the right metro station with the wrong ticket, or vice versa. "It is very easy to get confused between Secunderabad East and West stations," said Saidulu, a commuter. "Last week, I bought another ticket because I accidentally booked for the wrong station," he addedThe issue has become so prevalent that metro authorities have reported numerous instances of passengers requiring assistance at ticket counters daily. "We receive approximately 50-60 complaints every day regarding this confusion," revealed a metro official. "Many passengers, especially newcomers to the city, find it challenging to differentiate between the two stations." Metro officials suggested improvements to the interface on various ticket booking mobile apps as a workaround. "It would help to have detailed station information and maps," said an official. Until these improvements are implemented, the metro advised passengers to carefully verify their destination station before booking tickets and to seek assistance when in doubt.
