HYDERABAD: Telangana has emerged as the go-to destination for largescale investments in new and emerging technologies, Telangana industries minister KT Rama Rao said on Wednesday.

Pointing out that India is well-equipped to develop as a hub for manufacturing of electric vehicles (EVs) and its supply chain, KTR said state is committed to providing an impetus to EV adoption and play a key role in India's transition to electric mobility.

KTR said this while inaugurating the first edition of the Hyderabad E-Motor Show, which is the first dedicated show for electric vehicles in the country, being held over three days as part of the ongoing Hyderabad E-Mobility Week that will culminate with India's first Formula-E race on February 11.

He said Telangana is pursuing a comprehensive strategy to bring manufacturing of various components of the EV and energy storage ecosystem and is also taking steps towards the refining of Lithium in the state.

While Amara Raja group's decision to set up a gigafactory will pave the way for the development of a comprehensive EV and advanced chemistry cell ecosystem, he said the Telangana Mobility Valley will make state the competitive destination for both EV manufacturing and R&D.

Flagging off new EV offerings from Citroen, Quantum Energy and Hop Electric here, the minister said that armed with Telangana's progressive EV adoption policy and ability to provide 24x7 electricity, the state now aims to become the most 'electrified state' in mobility in India.

He said while Hyderabad is already leading in the development of advanced automotive technologies, including ADAS, digital cockpit solutions, V2X, and automotive cybersecurity, Telangana is already home to players such as Mahindra, Hyundai Mobis, Olectra, ZF, Mytrah, Gravton, One Moto, and Pure EV.
