NEW DELHI: A man was arrested for allegedly touching a 38-year-old woman IT professional inappropriately on a flight from Chennai to Hyderabad, police said on Sunday.
The incident took place on Friday when a man in his mid-40s, employed in Chennai, was travelling to
Uttar Pradesh via Hyderabad. He was reportedly drunk at the time, police said.
According to officials, the woman, a 38-year-old IT professional, was seated beside her husband, while the accused was in the seat next to them on the flight.

The couple had fallen asleep during the journey, and as the flight was about to land at the airport here, the woman felt someone touching her inappropriately. She noticed the man’s hand and raised an alarm, police said.
After the flight landed, the woman filed a complaint with the RGIA police. Based on her statement, a case was registered under relevant sections of the BNS, a police official confirmed.
The accused was subsequently arrested. He told the police that he had touched her accidentally. A further probe is underway.
