KAKINADA: Chintaluru village in East Godavari district which had become a popular place in the state for the manufacture of ayurvedic drugs for several decades has earned a rare distinction of getting patent rights for one of its product meant for curbing diabetes.
According to Dr Dwibhasyam Venkata Srirama Murthy, chairman of Venkateswara Ayurveda Nilayam, "The pharmacy after nine years of research had developed VK 4 DIACON meant for diabetes control.

The union government had now accorded patent right for this medicine".
According to him, "About 15 per cent of the population in India are diabetic. VK 4 DIACON helps pancreas to produce more insulin and curb diabetes and thereby prevent damage to other organs such as liver and heart. It also helps in keeping blood pressure under control".
