Drugs case: Director Krish Jagarlamudi tests -ve
HYDERABAD: Tollywood director Krish Jagarlamudi, who was one of the accused in connection with the Radisson cocaine abuse case, tested negative in the drug test conducted by police.
The director, who reportedly was avoiding police investigation, walked into Gachibowli police station on Friday evening and met senior police officials of Cyberabad, who asked him to submit his urine and blood samples. He reportedly denied consuming drugs or buying them from anybody. On Saturday, the test results came negative.
The director moved Telangana high court on Friday, seeking anticipatory bail.
After police launched a probe into the drug bust case, six accused, who took part in the last week's party including Krish, went missing. It was on Friday evening after repeated attempts were made by police, that Krish appeared before them.
"When he was asked if he had seen anyone abusing drugs, Krishn feigned ignorance. He said he had gone to the party at Radisson after he was called to discuss some issue by another accused G Vivekanand," sources associated with investigation told STOI. Vivekanand has already been arrested. Police said finding drug traces in human body 2-3 days after its abuse is very difficult.
Meanwhile, Cyberabad police arrested Mirza Waheed Baig, a drug peddler from Yakutpura, who allegedly supplied drugs to Syed Abbas Ali, who was arrested for supplying drugs to Vivekanand. From Baig, police seized 4 grams of cocaine from his two-wheeler at Madhapur.
Based on his confession, police came across another peddler Abdul Rehman of Ranigunj. He is now included as accused No. 13 in this case. Police are set to add a manager of Radisson as accused in the case for allowing the hotel premises to be used for drug abuse. "Abbas, after purchasing the drugs from Baig, supplied them to Vivekanand on more than 10 occasions through his driver Praveen," police said . The peddlers were found using SnapChat to communicate among themselves.
It was on Feb 24, Vivekanand, Manjeera Group of Companies director, allegedly hosted a party in two rooms at Radisson Hotel where nine others, including Krish, attended the party. Cops alleged that some persons, who attended the party, abused cocaine and Vivekanand and two others had tested positive.
