Did not intend to kill girlfriend, wanted to end my life: Jilted lover

Hyderabad: Talking to a local TV channel, Venkatesh, who knifed his 22-year-old girlfriend on Tuesday at a lodge in Dilsukhnagar, said that he did not intend to kill her. Venkatesh had also slit his wrist. Both are recuperating at different local hospitals.
“I thought she used to talk to her ex-boyfriend. So, I called her to the lodge to kill myself in front of her.During the argument, accidentally she sustained a knife injury. I did not intend to harm her,” Venkatesh said. However, Chaitanyapuri police said Venkatesh’s claims were not true. “We have recorded the victim’s statement before a magistrate and she said that Venkatesh tried to kill her,” said Chaitanyapuri SI D Venkatesh. tnn
