HYDERABAD: The Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) on Thursday issued notices to the Centre and the states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, directing them to explain within two weeks their stand on the two petitions filed by senior IPS officers S A Huda and T P Das challenging the appointment of Anurag Sharma and J V Ramudu as DGPs of Telangana and AP respectively.

While the issue of DGP appointments will come up after two weeks, the issue pertaining to the cadre allocation is coming up on Friday for hearing. The Centre has to explain the rationale behind its cadre allocation methods.
