HYDERABAD: The

IT boom

in Hyderabad, over the past few years, has pushed the rate of

cyber-crimes

upwards, said experts during a

seminar

held in the city on Friday. They stressed on the need for a upgraded legal framework to deal with these crime.

"Hyderabad being an IT hub has witnessed a steep increase in crime. IT Act and cyber laws need to catch up with the upgraded criminals," said legal consultant, Jyoti Das.

The seminar, titled '2017's biggest cyber security threats' was conducted by at Cyberabad Commissionerate.

Experts added how cyber threats are not limited to affecting corporates but also the common man. As more and more people have been falling prey to this crime, more awareness is required.
