Hyderabad: A delegation led by Telangana Jana Samithi (TJS) president
M Kodandaram on Tuesday submitted a representation to chief electoral officer Vikas Raj seeking action against political parties and contestants allegedly indulging in distribution of money and liquor to the people ahead of the bypoll on November 3.
He sought the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take stringent action against those who were violating the norms.
Kodandaram along with party leaders staged a silent protest in front of the CEO’s office here and later submitted a representation to the election officials. Kodandaram alleged that
TRS and BJP leaders were resorting to distribution of money and liquor to lure voters, in utter violation of the electoral rules.
CEO Vikas Raj said election authorities would intensify checks to book violations of model code of conduct.
