With predictions of rain in the upcoming days, residents are concerned that the situation will continue to deteriorate.

Mohammed Qasim, a resident of Shahgunj told TOI that the road in the area was dug up to lay a new one and this has been causing immense inconvience to commuters.

“The traffic going towards Khilwat and the motorists heading to Chowk, Shahgunj have to face multiple hurdles due to the ongoing work. Now, the rain has become an added challenge while using these battered roads,” Qasim said.

Similarly, road laying work being undertaken at Syed Ali Guda, Natraj Nagar, Ambedkar Nagar is causing issues for motorists who frequently use the road.

“It has been almost two months since the road laying work was initiated in the area but now the work has stopped. The debris along the roadside, left behind by labourers, has not been cleared yet. No one appears to have any clarity on why the work has been deferred,” Aijaz, one of the shopkeepers at Syed Ali Guda complained.
