HYDERABAD: The Telangana high court on Thursday reserved its judgment in a few petitions that charged the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) of conducting the re-examination of Group-I prelims too in a defective manner despite the leak fiasco that led to the cancellation of the previous prelims.
Justice P Madhavi Devi reserved her verdict after hearing advocate general BS Prasad and petitioner’s contentions through senior counsel Aloor Giridhar Rao.
The petitions were filed by B Prasanth and several others stating that TSPSC removed collection of biometric details despite its recruitment notification clearly mentioning that such details will be collected as a precautionary measure to prevent impersonation and other malpractices.
“We expected that the TSPSC would be more cautious after the leak in the earlier exam. But they have learnt no lessons. After we pointed out the biometrics issue in these pleas, the TSPSC rectified its mistake and introduced it in its subsequent tests held for Group-4,” Giridhar Rao said, adding that this was proof that TSPSC erred in Group-I re-exam.
Advocate general BS Prasad said that the Group-1 exam was cancelled and a re-test conducted on June 11 without loss of much time to drive home a sense of confidence in the minds of aspiring candidates that authorities were committed to ensuring a flawless exam.
