Counsel couples looking to separate: Waqf board

CHARMINAR: The Telangana State Waqf Board (TSWB) on Tuesday urged all Qazis to ensure all possible counseling between the two parties before issuing any separation certificates.
A meeting headed by the TSWB chairman Mohammed Saleem with Qazis from the state on issuance of divorce, qula and marriage certificates threw light on a case challenged in the HC with regard to divorce certificate issue.
“We have asked all the Qazis to give effective counseling before handing any separation certificates. Let them be given a chance to think about separating and discuss the matter their superiors before taking a decision,”opined Mohammed Saleem, TSWB. Qazis were also instructed to follow the shariya as well as the guidelines set by the government of India in such cases.
