in a letter to chief secretary SP Singh urged him to use his good offices to get a detailed report on the sand mafia in Telangana and the number of people who have died after being run over by over-loaded sand lorries plying even in the middle of the night.

He also urged the chief secretary to seek a report on the death of Sailu, a government employee. Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy stated in his letter that Sailu died after being run over by over-loaded sand vehicle.
