HYDERABAD: The
Congress on Friday sought the disqualification of three rebel MLCs, Pulla Padmavathi, Konda Murali and SV Mohan Reddy from the Legislative Council for their anti-party activities. The three MLCs have been openly associating themselves with Jagan.
Party chief whip Bharathi Naik, whip Y Sivarami Reddy, MLCs A R Amos, M Ranga Redy and others met Council chairman A Chakrapani and lodged a complaint against the three MLCs.
The Congress leaders argued that these leaders had violated the party code of conduct and aligned with the YSR Congress. “These MLCs have participated in the anti-Congress activities organized by Jagan’s party. They have criticised the Congress and the leadership in the company of Jagan,” whip Sivarami Reddy told the media later.
The Congress delegation submitted a report on the anti-Congress activities of the three MLCs along with a CD containing video footages of the anti-Congress programmes attended by the rebels.
Later, chairman Chakrapani said, “I will go through the complaint and the CD first and then act as per rules.” He also said there was no time-frame for taking action on the complaint.
In another development, Congress leaders indicated that they would also seek the disqualification of Jagan loyalist MLC Jupudi Prabhakar.
