hyderabad: the crisis in the congress party over nominations to the rajahmundry municipal corporation and the tirupati municipality has blown over with the party announcing the names of g v harsha kumar and b karunakar reddy respectively. the selection of the candidates has been hanging fire for sometime due to group rivalry within the party. it may be recalled that east godavari district congress committee president and kadiam mla j rammohan rao, a close follower of clp leader y s rajashekara reddy, had strongly opposed the nomination of g v harsha kumar.
the party observers deputed to finalise the candidate too submitted a report against the nomination of harsha kumar. b karunakar reddy, nominated for the post of tirupati municipal chairperson is a close follower of y s rajashekara reddy.
