Congress government firmly in saddle in Telangana but there are promises to keep

The Congress party in Telangana which won a clear majority in the assembly elections has formed the government in Telangana. The BRS led by former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was hoping for a third consecutive term, but the Congress led by TPCC president A Revanth Reddy is now firmly in the saddle.

Assembly polls that were held on November 30. The results were declared on December 3. Following the Congress victory, Revanth Reddy was sworn in chief minister of Telangana on December 7.
