The Congress high command on Tuesday announced a list of ministers (who have been made constituency incharges and campaign leaders) and party seniors with the responsibility of ensuring victory for the party nominees in the 12 Assembly byelections.

HYDERABAD: The Congress high command on Tuesday announced a list of ministers (who have been made constituency incharges and campaign leaders) and party seniors with the responsibility of ensuring victory for the party nominees in the 12 Assembly byelections.
Congress party state affairs incharge Veerappa Moily wrote individual letters to 12 Telangana ministers urging them to proceed to the assigned constituency and ensure the success of Congress candidates.

They were also urged to involve MPs, MLAs and leaders in each district and tour the respective constituencies. However, chief minister K Rosaiah does not figure in the campaign list.
Analysts see this as a two-pronged strategy by the Congress high command to keep up the pressure on elected representatives from Telangana, who have been outspoken in recent times and also party MPs, MLAs, MLCs and ticket aspirants who have been cautioning the party against fighting the byelections.
Almost all T Congress heavyweights like K Keshava Rao, V Hanumantha Rao, G Sanjeeva Reddy, Nandi Yellaiah, Manda Jagannatham and Madhu Yashki (all MPs), K Jana Reddy, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Mallu Ravi, G Chinna Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka have been roped in to campaign in the byelections.
Congress MP and Telangana protagonist Madhu Yashki Goud was the party high commands messenger who delivered these letters to Rosaiah's cabinet colleagues and other campaign leaders in the city on Tuesday during his visit to the Assembly.
Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has been made the incharge of Sirpur constituency, while G Vivek and Mukesh Goud have been made incharges for Chennur, Danam Nagendar for Macherial, P Sudarshan Reddy for Yellareddy, Madhu Yashki Goud for Nizamabad Urban, R Venkat Reddy for Korutla, J Krishna Rao for Dharmapuri (SC), D K Aruna and Sunitha Lakshma Reddy for Vemulawada, D Sridhar Babu, Sabitha Indra Reddy and Damoder Raja Narasimha for Siricilla, Ponnam Prabhakar and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka for Huzurabad, J Geeta Reddy, Sarvey Satyanarayana and T Jayaprakaash Reddy for Siddipet and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, S Rajaiah and Baswaraj Saraiah for Warangal West.
