Confiscate tainted wealth: VHR
HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday urged the state government to confiscate the assets of corrupt officials and politicians and dedicate them to the people of the state.
Addressing the media, VHR charged former Hyderabad collector Navin Mittal and additional commissioner of GHMC Dhananjaya Reddy with allowing YSR Congress president YS Jaganmohan Reddy to illegally construct a mansion in Banjara Hills in the heart of the city and demanded action against these two officials.

Lauding Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for setting up a school in the house of a corrupt IAS official, Rao urged chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to emulate Nitish’s policy. “Corrupt politicians and officials should realize that the government can confiscate their property if found guilty,” Rao said.
Referring to the Lotus Pond mansion of Jagan, VHR said the chief minister should explore the possibility of the state taking over the bungalow instead of demolishing the ‘illegal’ structure. “The building should be put to use for a public purpose,” he said.
